The HydroACT range of online analyzers utilize the very latest and best pH sensors available in the world today for measuring the online pH of
any aqueous solution. They are combination glass electrodes with integral reference, automatic temperature combination, which use
no reagents, are extremely stable, and have reduced maintenance and reduced whole life costs.

  • Up to 3 years continuous operation
  • Stable and reliable – excellent process control
  • Suitable for all potable and process waters
  • Suitable for very low conductivity waters
  • Integral temperature compensation
  • Suitable for use in Autoflush

The pH sensors and flow cells are available with different
controllers giving you the same great performance with
different communication, display, and control options.
With the HydroACT range of pH controllers, you get
everything that you need and nothing that you don’t.

    Description

At the heart of the HydroACT range of pH sensors are the pH electrodes. The pH5 electrolde has a double-junction reference to prevent contamination of the reference from sample components. This design gives the electrode a
longer life compared to ordinary electrodes (up to 3 years). The electrode also has a hemi-shaped glass measuring surface which is more durable than the
traditional bulb-shaped glass. Although they command a higher price in the market place, these sensors are more than cost effective with their longer life and lower maintenance requirements, typically only needing calibration once per two or three months.

pH5 and pH6 are particularly sensitive to applications such as very low ionic strength waters or high temperature applications. pH1 – pH3 are less expensive, more traditional combination electrodes.

Anywhere you have a requirement to measure pH is a suitable application for the pH sensor. The HydroACT pH sensor range is particularly suited to working in sites where reliability and ease of use are most important. One area where the pH sensor excels is in the measurement of pH in very low conductivity or ultra clean water.

    Q & A’s

The Chemtrac HydroACT DPD Chlorine Analyzer is an online instrument that continuously measures free or total residual chlorine using the industry‑standard DPD colorimetric method to help maintain safe and effective disinfection.

The DPD sensor injects DPD reagent into the sample, then uses a 515 nm light source to detect the color change created when the reagent reacts with chlorine, with the color intensity proportional to the chlorine concentration.

The analyzer provides stable, reliable performance with no user calibration required, while its user‑friendly maintenance and long service intervals support excellent process control at a low operating cost.

It is designed for drinking water treatment, distribution system monitoring, wastewater applications, and dechlorination processes where accurate residual chlorine measurement is critical.

Standard features include free or total chlorine measurement (0–5 mg/L range), a pre‑mounted backboard assembly, a reagent starter kit, and alarms for sample flow and reagent level.

Optional upgrades include additional sensor inputs (such as pH, ORP, NTU), expanded I/O, Modbus or Profibus communications, data logging with microSD card download, a color display, sample strainer with automatic flushing, and PID‑based chemical feed control.

Reagents are typically replaced once per month, and a maintenance kit is used about every six months, thanks to the analyzer’s stable design and easy access to internal components.

The DPD sensor offers a 0–5 mg/L measurement range with a detection limit of 0.03 mg/L, resolution of 0.01 mg/L, and accuracy of approximately ±0.5% of the measured value or ±0.04 mg/L, whichever is greater.
