SC Water Treatment Plant Overcomes Challenges due to Epic Flood
In October, 2015, the city of Columbia, SC received about 24 inches of rain in 48 hours. Severe flooding occurred. The storm had an impact on the Broad River, and subsequently created challenges for a local water treatment plant.
The Canal WTP utilized their charge measurement instrumentation to direct them on how to treat the water from such unprecedented conditions. The Chemtrac Streaming Current Monitor, and the Chemtrac Laboratory Charge Analyzer (LCA) were extremely valuable and useful tools that helped the plant personnel continue to provide potable water to the citizens of the metropolitan area.
